Balance Update 0.4.2 — Class Tuning

Adjustments to Warrior threat generation, Mage burst damage, and Priest healing efficiency. Read the full notes inside.

Update 0.4.2 addresses a number of class balance issues identified during internal testing. These are not dramatic overhauls — our philosophy at this stage is to make small, targeted adjustments and observe their impact before reaching for bigger levers.

WARRIOR: Thunder Clap threat modifier increased from 1.5× to 1.8×. Heroic Strike rank 3 rage cost reduced from 15 to 13. Shield Bash now correctly interrupts spellcasting from targets facing away from the Warrior. Fixed a bug where Battle Shout was not applying to party members more than 20 yards away.

MAGE: Fireball rank 4 base damage reduced by 8%. Fire Blast cooldown increased from 8 seconds to 10 seconds. Polymorph now correctly breaks on all damage types including damage-over-time effects. Blizzard channelling is no longer cancelled by knockback effects. Arcane Explosion mana cost reduced by 12% across all ranks.

PRIEST: Heal rank 2 and 3 healing-per-mana ratio increased by 6%. Power Word: Shield absorption value increased by 10% at all ranks. Renew HoT double-tick bug has been fixed — this was the most-reported issue this week. Shadow Word: Pain damage unchanged; we are watching its performance closely in longer fights.
